Before boarding the plane, you need to go through registration and security control. If your flight is international, then passport control and customs check are added. All this is usually not difficult, but it can take a lot of time.

Step 1
Prepare your itinerary receipt before leaving home. It is not necessary to take it with you on domestic flights, but it is still better to have this paper with you, as you may need it to get to the airport. On international flights, a printed itinerary receipt is required. When passing through passport control abroad, the itinerary receipt for the return flight may be one of the grounds for putting you an entry stamp (if there is no printout, you may be denied entry).
Step 2
It is better to arrive at the airport a little in advance, especially if you have not flown by air before or the terminal building is unfamiliar to you. Check-in usually starts 3 hours before the plane's departure. It usually completes in 30 or 40 minutes, but sometimes it is extended. If you did not have time to check in, then you can try to contact the employee of the airline you are flying, sometimes it turns out to register after the end of the officially allotted time. If this cannot be done, you need to contact the counter for latecomers.
Step 3
At Russian airports, baggage is always checked by a scanner at the entrance. You need to put your things on the tape, remove metal objects and keys from your pockets and go through the scanner yourself. At foreign airports, entrance checks are not always carried out.
Step 4
After entering the terminal building, look around for an information board. It will indicate whether check-in has already begun for your flight, and if so, at which counters it takes place. All racks are numbered. If you cannot find your way, go to the information counter, it is marked with the letter "i" and is always located near the entrance.
Step 5
Go to the check-in counters. Give the employee your ID and a printed itinerary receipt, if needed. If you have special requests for your seat, please let us know right away: you can choose a window seat or aisle seat.
Step 6
If you are checking in luggage, then put them on the tape next to the check-in counter. If the weight exceeds the maximum allowable norm, you will need to pay extra. If everything is in order, your luggage will be marked and you will be given a tag (usually a sticker) by which you can collect your luggage upon arrival.
Step 7
You will receive a boarding pass, which means that the check-in is passed. Then you will need to go through additional checks: inspection and passport control. A member of staff at the front desk will advise you where to head next.
