Step 1
One of the most interesting cities in the Rostov region is Novocherkassk. It appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century as the capital of the Don Cossacks. Travel from Rostov to Taganrog. It is located on the shores of the Taganrog Bay of the Azov Sea. In Aksai, which can be reached from Rostov by rail, you can visit one of the best military history museums in Russia. In Aksai, electric trains usually stop in the direction of Likhoi. By the way, Rostov is just a stone's throw from the cities of Donetsk region, including the legendary Krasnodon, where you can arrive by bus.

In the north of the Rostov region is the village of Veshenskaya, where the famous writer Mikhail Sholokhov was born. This village is the center of the Sholokhovsky district. It takes a long time to get there from Rostov, so it is better to go to Sholokhov's places not for a day, but at least two. Buses to Veshenskaya go from the Rostov bus station.
