Petersburgers can receive Finnish Schengen under a simplified scheme. To obtain a Finnish visa, you only need a valid foreign passport, Russian passport, medical insurance policy, a photograph and a completed visa application form. Step 1
Open the official website of the Visa Application Center in Finland https://visa.finland.eu/Saintpeterburg/russian/index.html and fill out the application form. To do this, select the Visa Application Form tab, where you will find everything you need. To fill out the questionnaire, you will need to indicate your passport data, address in Finland, where you plan to stay. An official place of work is not required, certificates from work and bank card statements are not required. The application form must be printed out and taken with you to the Visa Application Center.
Step 2
Prepare a photo for the questionnaire. If desired, and to save money, you can make it at home. The photograph should be taken on a light gray background, size 36 x 47 mm, head 25 x 35 mm. Retouched photos may not be accepted. So don't overuse. If you do not want to fill out the questionnaire yourself and take a photo, then contact the employees of the insurance department. They will fill out a questionnaire, take the necessary photo along with the insurance. Employees will need to give answers to the following questions: estimated travel dates, purpose of travel, place of work, half-year or multi-visa you want to receive. The first time they do not give a multivisa. The same services for filling out questionnaires and photographing are provided by the Visa Center.
Step 3
Take out a medical insurance policy for traveling abroad at any insurance company. Many offices even offer online insurance. The easiest option is to make a policy either on the way to the Visa Application Center, or right in the center. The cost of obtaining health insurance varies from the choice of the company and its reliability. You can find out the average insurance option by calling several companies.
Step 4
Submit all required documents to the Visa Application Center. It is located at 21/5 Stremyannaya Street in a shopping center. You can make an appointment directly on the website, or by calling the call center. You can also come directly to the center. The queue is small, waiting usually does not take more than 10 minutes, at the entrance a number is issued. At the time of application, you will also need to pay the visa fee.
Step 5
Check the readiness of the answer. The waiting time usually takes from 7 to 14 days. The expected date of issuance of visas will be communicated to you at the center when you apply. There they will also issue a check with the application number and on the website you can independently track the readiness of the documents on it. The process of obtaining a passport with a Finnish visa also takes no more than 10-15 minutes. The center also offers the service of ordering a passport by courier directly to your home with delivery for a separate payment.
