Finland is one of the Schengen countries whose visas are the easiest for Russians to obtain. Its consulates in the Russian Federation have minimum requirements for the set of documents. In particular, you do not need a work certificate and a return ticket, which allows you to easily obtain a Finnish visa yourself.
Necessary
- - passport, valid for at least three months after the end of the trip;

- - confirmation of the purpose of the trip (hotel reservation, invitation from a Finnish citizen or holder of a residence permit);

Instructions
Step 1
It is best to start preparing for a trip by choosing a place where you will live: a hotel, a hostel, a rented cottage or apartment, etc. There are plenty of such offers on the Internet. It is better not to limit your search to Russian-language resources: there are many more affordable options in the English-speaking segment After choosing the appropriate one, fill out the online booking form or contact the administration by e-mail or phone. Ask to send you a fax with confirmation of the fact of booking and the dates on which you plan to stay. This will confirm the purpose of your voyage. If you are going to Finland for work, take a letter from the employer indicating the dates and purpose of the trip.
Step 2
A Finnish visa must be obtained at the visa center or directly at the consulate by appointment.
Go to the site of the center, click the link "Make an appointment", and on the page that opens - "Make an appointment".
Select from the drop-down list the nearest city of submission of documents, the number of applicants and the category of visa. Next, enter your e-mail address and password, and then the series, number and expiration date of the passport, name and surname, landline and mobile phones and e-mail address. Enter the code to protect against automatic registration. In the proposed list of available dates, select the most convenient, then the time for the visit.
Step 3
On the website of the Visa Application Center, you can also fill out a visa application form. Fill out the form and print it on the printer. Paste on it a color photograph 3 x 4 cm so that the face is exactly in the center of the field designated for the photo. Requirements for photography can be found on the websites of the Visa Application Center and the Embassy of Finland in Russia.
You can also take a picture and stick a photo directly at the visa application center, for this there is a photo booth.
Step 4
Take out an insurance policy for the entire trip. This can be done in any insurance company, preferably in a large and well-known one. The list of insurance companies accredited by the consulate can be found on its website.
The policy must be valid throughout the Schengen area, have a limit of the insured amount of at least 30 thousand euros, and do not contain a deductible.
Step 5
When all the documents are ready, it remains to wait for the appointed date and take them along with the consular fee to the visa center or consulate. The visa fee for Russians is 35 euros. Visa center services will cost another 21 euros.
At the visa application center, you can also order the delivery of your passport home or work for a fee. Or pick it up from the center as soon as it is ready.
