Instructions
Step 1
Sheremetev Castle is the estate of the provincial leader of the nobility, built at the beginning of the 19th century and, over time, fully equipped. The castle is located in the village of Yurino, Nizhny Novgorod region. Bus tours are organized here from Nizhniy Novgorod. The attraction is not only the Sheremetev estate itself, but also a magnificent park with old buildings surrounding the castle, as well as the Archangel Michael Cathedral, built in the middle of the 20th century. If you come to the Sheremetev Castle for a long excursion with an overnight stay, then you can allocate time to explore the surroundings - there is beautiful nature here and there is an opportunity to relax and fish.
Step 2
The village of Troitskoye was founded in the 15th century, and in the 17th century, after the Solovetsky uprising, fugitive monks settled here and built a monastery. To this day, two old wooden churches of interest to tourists have survived here: the Trinity Church of 1713 and the Church of Saints Zosima and Savvaty from 1870, in which the original interior decoration has been preserved.
Step 3
Lake Svetloyar - located on the territory of the Svetloyar reserve. Its features are the ideal oval shape, the purest water, never overgrown with mud. This is one of the largest lakes, as well as the deepest lake in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The depth of Svetloyar is 36 m. Scientists have not come to an unambiguous conclusion about the origin of this lake, so there are many legends around it. Not far from the lake there is another cultural monument - the Church of the Kazan Mother of God, near which lies an ancient stone with the imprint of the footprint of the Mother of God.
Step 4
The city of Semenov is located an hour's drive from Nizhny Novgorod. Many buildings of the 19th and early 20th centuries have survived in this small town, so the architecture of the city is very unusual: two-storey log houses decorated with rich carvings are adjacent to new buildings. There are museums interesting for tourists in Semyonov: the historical and art museum, which presents art crafts of the past and the century before last (Khokhloma, wood carving, wooden sculpture, wooden toys), the Museum of Old Believers. Excursions to the factories of Khokhloma and Semyonov painting are also organized.
