A visa is a document that is one of the grounds for a foreigner to enter the territory of a particular country. In many countries, immigration control has the right, upon suspicion that the purpose of the trip does not correspond to the previously declared one, to prohibit the holder of a valid visa from entering the country. Therefore, when drawing up a document, it is necessary to take into account some of the nuances.

Step 1
The first thing to do is to choose the type of visa, since the number of documents submitted depends on this. On the website of the UK Visa Office, fill out the form, send it to them and print a copy for yourself, select the date and time of your visit, pay the consular fee.
Step 2
A digital photo will be taken and fingerprints scanned at the UK Visa Application Center. These procedures are carried out at no additional cost. They are compulsory for all adults, as well as children aged 5 and over. The visa center accepts biometric data only by appointment, which is made exclusively with a package of all necessary documents.
Step 3
To apply for a visa, you must provide the following documents:
- a foreign passport, which is valid for the date of opening a visa for 6 months or more;
- 1 color photograph of 3, 5 by 4, 5 centimeters in size, taken on a white background without ovals and corners;
- copies of passport pages with existing marks;
- completed form;
- a certificate from work on letterhead, certified by a seal, which indicates the monthly salary (at least 40,000 rubles), or a letter of guarantee from the organization or person who pays for the tour;
- for schoolchildren and students - a certificate from the educational institution;
- bank statement;
- if you have property (land, garage, cottage, car, apartment) that are registered for you, it is advisable to provide the vehicle registration certificate and photocopies of property certificates;
- if a marriage is concluded, it is necessary to present a copy of the marriage certificate;
- if there are minor children, provide a copy of their birth certificate;
- if the purpose of the trip is tourism, a hotel reservation is required;
- a power of attorney filled in for the courier;
- former foreign passport.
Step 4
For children under the age of 18:
- power of attorney from the remaining parents for export, translated into English;
- a copy of the birth certificate.
Step 5
For student visas that are issued for studying in the UK, in addition to the listed documents, you additionally need:
- the original invitation from the educational institution, which describes in detail the number of teaching hours per week and the course program;
- confirmation of payment for studies;
- application form for filling out a student visa.
Step 6
All collected documents for visa processing should be translated into English. You do not need to certify the translation.
