A true tourist is ready to hike at any time of the year. And on every journey he is accompanied by a backpack tested by previous travels. A tourist may need a lot of useful little things during a hike. To anticipate the most unexpected situations and prepare yourself for the test, you need to think in advance about what the contents of your backpack will be.
Backpacks come in a variety of shapes, sizes and purposes. The choice of a specific container for travel items is determined, first of all, by the duration of the trip and the complexity of the route. Regardless of your choice, every hike requires a certain minimum of necessary things in your backpack, which are difficult to do without during the trip. Start with the bulkiest and heaviest items in your backpack. On a multi-day hike, you cannot do without a light gable tent. Such a house will protect from bad weather and will allow you to spend the night in comfort, especially if it is properly soaked. In a climate typical for central Russia, you cannot do without a comfortable sleeping bag. Such a bag is especially good in the autumn and winter seasons, because it is able to protect even from frost. The composition is completed by a polyurethane mat, sized to fit the bottom of the tent. Think over the necessary equipment for cooking and eating. A small bucket or a pot with a lid will come in handy - like a soldier's. Such a capacity will be able to feed a tourist company of two or three people. Place a stainless steel mug and aluminum spoon in your backpack. A well-sharpened knife remains an indispensable tourist companion. Often, a set of disposable tableware is taken on a collective trip, which takes up little space and weighs practically nothing. In addition to a knife, it is a good idea to have a small hatchet on the farm. With him it costs nothing to chop wood for a fire and prepare poles for a tent. Thread gloves will make any work safe for your hands. Also stock up on a medium-length rope or strong nylon cord. In the dark, an electric flashlight will be a good help for a tourist. To light a fire, provide a lighter and a couple of boxes of matches, which are recommended to be wrapped in plastic. A regular rubber balloon will also work to keep the matches from getting wet. You should also not forget about such household trifles as a needle and thread. Equip your backpack with a first aid kit. It should provide the most necessary drugs and materials to provide first aid in critical situations: bandage, plaster, cotton wool, iodine, several aspirin and activated charcoal tablets, alcohol for disinfecting wounds. Complement the first aid kit with a remedy for bites of blood-sucking insects. To keep your hiking gear complete, put a map of the area along which you will hike and a compass in the pocket of your backpack. This is just a basic set of things that can come in handy while traveling. Each tourist will be able to expand and supplement it independently, taking into account their preferences and accumulated experience.
