Spain is one of the most beautiful and colorful countries in the world. This is a state with an interesting history and rich cultural heritage. On the territory of Spain there are many interesting places that attract a huge number of tourists.
One of the most picturesque and remarkable places in the country is Castellfulit de la Roca. It is a small town located on the edge of a cliff. The place where the city is located can rightfully be called a real miracle of nature. The basalt rock was formed by lava flows millennia ago. The houses of local residents stand at a height of 50 meters, and almost all buildings are made of the same rock of the volcano as the rock itself. The population of this area is very small and amounts to about 1000 people. However, despite its small size, this town is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Catalonia.
Also a unique place is the town next to Ronda - Setenil de las Bodegas. Its location is even more interesting and rather unusual. The fact is that the city is located right in a rocky gorge. Setenil de las Bodegas is also called the "white town". It is located in the mountains of Andalusia and wins the hearts of tourists with its unique architectural style. Rock arches of various shapes and sizes hang right above the streets. They are the original fortress of the city, which protects local residents from strong winds in winter and scorching sun in summer. The buildings seem to be cut into these huge basalt rocks and look like an extension of the majestic caves. This is a true miracle of nature that has existed for over eight centuries.
Not inferior in its uniqueness and "the city of the Spanish troglodytes" - Guadix. For many, the word "troglodyte" sounds rather scary, but as soon as you turn to its true meaning, everything falls into place. Translated from Greek, this word means "living in a cave." It is worth saying that the whole city is in continuous intricacies of houses, roads and chimneys that literally stick out of the ground. An interesting fact is that all the houses in this cavernous area are located at different heights and, walking through the blocks of houses and caves, people can easily walk on the roofs of nearby buildings.
Located in Valencia, L'Oceanogràfic Aquarium is the largest oceanographic park in Europe, mesmerizing in scale and beauty. The Oceanarium is one of the most visited places in Spain, which is not at all surprising, because there really is something to see here. The aquarium contains over 45,000 fish and marine animals. L'Oceanogràfic also houses a bird pavilion and a dolphinarium.
