In order to obtain a visa to visit a country, such as Sweden, in the Schengen area, you must submit an application and documents to the diplomatic mission of this state.
Instructions
Step 1
Download the PDF Schengen visa application form at www.migrationsverket.se. Fill it out in English or Swedish. Please sign in paragraph 37 and on the last page. Also complete the Family Information Appendix. Applications in Russian will not be accepted.
Step 2
Make a copy of your passport photo page. Check the expiration date of your passport - it must be no earlier than three months after leaving Sweden.
Step 3
Book round trip tickets. Print electronic itinerary receipts or provide original tickets. Also, make a hotel reservation for the entire period of your stay in the country. Please attach the original hotel voucher or booking confirmation to the package of documents.
Step 4
Collect documents that characterize your financial viability. This can be a certificate of employment, printed on the letterhead of the organization with the seal and signature of the manager, or a bank statement. It is also possible to purchase traveler's checks for 40 euros (370 SEK) for each day of your stay in Sweden.
Step 5
Contact your insurance company for health insurance valid in the Schengen countries. The minimum sum insured must be at least EUR 30,000. Remember, handwritten policies will not be accepted.
Step 6
Prepare 2 color photographs taken no earlier than 6 months ago. The size of the photos is 35 x 45 mm, the background color is white.
Step 7
Pay the consular fee. For a regular tourist visa it is 1,400 rubles, for an urgent one - 2,800 rubles. The consular fee is collected in cash at the time of application for a visa.
Step 8
Submit the collected documents to the consular department, attach a Russian passport to them. Visa processing is 7 days, for an urgent visa this period is 3 days.
