A Schengen visa is an entry and temporary residence permit in the Schengen countries. Russian citizens are rarely refused Schengen visas, but it still happens. In the vast majority of cases, the problem lies in incorrectly selected or formatted documents. In general, we can say that a Schengen visa is issued to Russian citizens quite easily.
Instructions
Step 1
Incorrect information in the questionnaire. If you provide erroneous information by accident or deliberately, this is considered fraudulent.
Step 2
Criminal past. A criminal record is often the reason for refusal of a Schengen visa. Nevertheless, it is important here what the conviction was for, what punishment was imposed, whether the person served it, and so on. A criminal record is not a guarantee of rejection.
Step 3
Lack of visible channels for livelihood. That is, if you did not provide any documents confirming your financial condition, did not show a certificate of employment or a sponsorship letter, the consular staff may consider this suspicious.
Step 4
No travel reservations, meaning there are no country ticket reservations, hotel reservations, host invitations, or tickets to any events. Consulate officials prefer to know what you are going to do in the Schengen area.
Step 5
Negative history of staying in the Schengen area or Consulates. If a person committed any violations on the territory of the Schengen countries, then they are entered into a special database. For example, unpaid fines often become a problem when re-obtaining a visa. Violations of visa terms or the laws of any country can also be a reason for refusal.
Step 6
The applicant had already received a refusal in a previous visa, but the reasons for the refusal have not been eliminated.
Step 7
There is no reason to believe that the applicant intends to return to his country of residence. For example, a person does not have any property, no job, no family, etc.
Step 8
The applicant's documents do not comply with the rules. The most common problem is the validity of the passport. Remember that it must be valid for three months after the end of your trip to the Schengen countries!
Step 9
Previous Schengen visas were misused. For example, the applicant received a Lithuanian visa, but always entered through Poland and has never been to Lithuania: this is considered an inappropriate use of the visa.
