The fastest way from Moscow to Ulan-Ude is by plane. This flight is operated by three airlines. The planes take off from Moscow in the early morning and arrive in 5 hours and 45 minutes.

But passing trains can also be used. One of the cheapest is Moscow - Chita, the most expensive are Moscow - Ulan Bator and Moscow - Vladivostok.

To save money on the road, you can buy a cheap plane ticket from Moscow to Irkutsk, and then take a passing train to Ulan-Ude. The train journey will take 8-10 hours, so most often travelers choose a reserved seat or shared carriage. This method is popular with students.

The distance from Moscow to Ulan-Ude is more than 5600 km. This means a lot of fuel will be required if you plan to cover the path by car. Add to this the cost of an overnight stay (in roadside hotels or hostels in large cities - from 1500-2000 rubles for two) and meals in a cafe (from 200 rubles per meal per person). In addition, in some areas, the asphalt surface is replaced by a gravel road.
When choosing a cafe, it is better to prefer those where trucks have accumulated, since truckers know the best catering points on the highway. And when leaving big cities - stock up on fuel, because the closer you are to your destination, the less frequent gas stations are.
