There are a lot of interesting places in Crimea. Resting or traveling with children, you will have to carefully select excursions to please young fussy. The Taigan Lions Park will give a storm of emotions to both small and large sophisticated travelers.
The Lion Park is the first and only one in Europe. It is located on a vast territory of more than 30 hectares, not far from the Taigan reservoir in the Belogorsk region. The unusual name of the reservoir inspired the creators of the park to choose the name "Taigan". You can walk in this zoo all day long, keep this in mind when going on an excursion.
The territory of the park is divided into two parts: the possession of the lions and the zoo with other animals. The territory of lions is a large part of the park, fenced with a fence, over which special walkways have been built for visitors. There are about 50 lions here, which live like in the wild, without cages. Visitors can observe animals, take photographs, and take videos at a safe distance from the lions. But at the same time, being quite close to predators, which causes a storm of emotions.
Lions are especially active in the evening and morning hours, so during the day it is rather difficult to see animals hiding from the heat in the thickets. For visitors to watch the lions, the park is open from eight in the morning until eight in the evening. There is also a hotel on the territory where you can stay and leisurely get acquainted with the inhabitants of the zoo and watch the animals at different times of the day. The apogee of acquaintance with lions, of course, becomes the feeding of predators, which is carried out at 10 o'clock in the morning. Park workers throw meat to lions from the walkway for visitors. Lions cannot miss this moment, so they run from all over the territory and appear before the audience in all their power and natural beauty. It is difficult to tear yourself away from this spectacle, you will not see so many lions anywhere else!
Going down from the footbridge, you will find yourself next to the house of lion cubs and tiger cubs, which are allowed to be stroked and taken in your arms for a reasonable fee.
On the other side of the park, there is a zoo with many animals. It is especially interesting that all of them are located in spacious enclosures with families. If you visit the park in summer, you will see a family of bears with two or three cubs, a family of camels with camels, deer with cubs and many tiger cubs, lion cubs, wolf cubs, and piglets. It is noteworthy that all living creatures can be fed directly from the hand. To do this, they sell different feeds in the park: nuts, apples, carrots, hay and even fish.
The territory of the park is decorated with interesting stone and plant sculptures, flower beds, wonderful lawns on which rabbits and peacocks run. There are cozy cafes, many benches in the shade of trees. In general, you can relax with your children, have a snack and move on.
For young visitors, the most interesting place is the grandmother's yard. It will not be easy to pick up the child from here. And it is this place that your child will constantly remember. The main thing is, when entering the territory of the grandmother's yard, stock up on food for animals, because your child will want to feed everyone! In a fairly large pen, goats with kids, mini rams with lambs, many Mexican pigs with piglets are running around and everyone is asking for food.
Kids will also love the nearby poultry yard, where different types of poultry roam. The zoo also features exotic animals: giraffes, monkeys, white lions and tigers, crocodiles, hyenas, panthers and many others.
For young visitors of the park, there is a tour on a children's train.
