There are various designs of tourist tents, but they are united by one property - the protection of people from natural disasters. The service life of a tent directly depends on the degree of its use and on the thoroughness of its care.

Instructions
Step 1
Repairing your tent depends on the degree of damage. Many manufacturers do not glue the seams at the base of the tent, and after the first use, it will require your intervention. Use a special joint sealant available from camping supply stores.
Step 2
Before starting repairs, dry the tent well, both outside and inside. Take a sealant, apply a small layer to the seams on the floor and under the folds that cover them. Iron all seams and allow the sealant to set, curing takes about 2 hours. Dry the tent again for 24 hours.
Step 3
Use a sealant to coat the corners as they are most susceptible to moisture ingress. Prolonged use of the tent will wear out the outer seams, which are usually covered with a layer of film. Over time, the film peels off or warps a little and begins to let moisture through. To seal it, subject to slight deformation of the film, glue the delamination points with a special glue, but you can use any waterproof rubber-based glue.
Step 4
If almost all of the seam sealing film has peeled off, remove it completely and treat the seam with a mild solvent or industrial alcohol to remove the remnants of glue and film. Coat the cleaned layer with a specialized sealant.
Step 5
Lightning is often a problematic area of the tent. During operation, zipper elements are subject to friction and often become unusable. When replacing a zipper, start by looking for the same or a similar zipper. The markings are usually located on the back of the zipper, use this when fitting a new zipper.
Step 6
Pull apart the bottom end of the zipper attachment, do it carefully if possible. Remove the old worn out lock and install a new one. Check if it works. If the lock moves freely, sew the open seam of the lock stop.
Step 7
Resuscitate the fractured arch with a suitable diameter tube. Clean and flatten the break in the arc. Insert both ends firmly into the tube and secure with adhesive tape.
