Having lost your passport on the territory of Russia, you must immediately contact the police. It is not necessary to do this at the place of residence. You can come to any police station. Your application will be registered, and you will be handed a coupon, with which you must come to the passport office already at your place of residence or at the place of registration. In the absence of a passport officer on the staff of the management company, you can go to the district office of the migration service.

You must provide a passport officer or an employee of the FMS with a police coupon, as well as all the documents you have that may indicate your identity (foreign passport, driver's license, sailor's passport, birth certificate, etc.).

Fill out an application for a general civil passport, and also attach to it: a birth certificate, a certificate of marriage / divorce, birth certificates of children who have not reached the age of 14 at the time of loss of the passport, a military ID, if available - a certificate of registration at the place of stay …

You will also have to pay a fine ranging from 500 to 2000 rubles. depending on the decision of the body of the migration service. The fine is paid at any branch of Sberbank, and the original receipt is attached to the documents.

Do not forget to take a color photograph of the standard pattern for your passport. If you want to receive a temporary identity card before the passport is ready, you will have to take not 4 photos, but 6. The passport is taken 10 days if you came to your place of residence, and 2 months in any other place (for example, in another district, city).

If the loss of the document occurred outside the home country, you need to contact the Russian consulate. The procedure is, in principle, identical, with the only difference that the consul will deal with the execution of the document, and a temporary certificate will be issued within 3 days.
Step 8
Lost foreign passports are issued anew at the migration service, and within one month from the date of submission of all documents at the place of registration, and within 4 months - at the place of stay. In the questionnaire, you will need to indicate "instead of the lost", as well as attach a copy of the Russian passport, a copy of the work book. You will be photographed at the Federal Migration Service on a special apparatus.
