Step 1
The main attraction of the city is the ruins of the ancient Tauridic Chersonesos. This huge open-air museum complex occupies a vast area between Karantinnaya and Peschanaya Bay. You can get to it from the center of Sevastopol by public transport. Among the significant structures of Chersonesos, one can note the remains of an ancient basilica, a bell, the Vladimir Cathedral, the "mint", the only amphitheater and the "western gate" that have survived in Crimea.

There are several museums in Sevastopol, the most interesting of which are the Naval Museum of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, the diorama "Storming Sapun Mountain", the panorama "Defense of Sevastopol", the submarine museum "Balaklava", the Sevastopol Museum of Local Lore. The Sevastopol Aquarium occupies a special place among the city's marine museums. This is the oldest public marine aquarium in Crimea and Europe.
