The Pokrovsky stavropegic convent is located in Moscow at st. Taganskaya, 58. You can get to it first by metro to the Marksistskaya station, then either walk or use ground transport.

Step 1
The full name of the Intercession Monastery in Moscow is the Intercession Stavropegic Convent. It was founded by Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich in 1635, was called Bozhedomsky and at first existed as a monastery. In subsequent years, it was rebuilt several times. In the 1920s, the monastery was closed, the bell tower was blown up, and a park was laid out on a part of the monastery territory. In 1994, the monastery was returned to the church.

Every day there is a queue at the walls of the Intercession Monastery. Believers go to venerate the relics of Matrona of Moscow, ask the holy help and healing.
Step 3
Matrona Dimitrievna Nikonova was born in 1885 into a peasant family. She was blind from birth, but possessed the gift of foresight and the ability to heal people. She lived most of her life in Moscow, where she died in 1952. Her grave at the Danilovskoye cemetery became a place of pilgrimage. In 1998, the transfer of the relics to the Intercession Monastery took place. Soon Matrona of Moscow was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Step 4
To get to the Intercession Monastery, take the metro. You need to get off at the Marxist station. This is on the yellow, Kalininskaya line. Once on Taganskaya Street, you will have to walk for 10-12 minutes until the red brick walls of the monastery appear. There is usually a line at the entrance to the church where the relics of Matrona of Moscow rest.
Step 5
If it is difficult to walk on foot, then you can go by trolleybus (№№16, 26, 63) or by bus №№ 51, 74). Get off at the Bolshaya Andronievskaya street stop. The Intercession Monastery will be very close.
