Salou is the resort and tourist capital of the Costa Dorada in Spain. Golden sandy beaches, hotels overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, numerous shops and restaurants attract travelers from all over the world.
PortAventura World
Of course, one of the main attractions of Salou is PortAventura World, the most famous and most visited park in Spain. This complex includes three parks: PortAventura Park, Ferrari Land, Caribe Aquatic Park. Both extreme lovers and lovers of quiet family recreation and calm attractions will receive unique sensations and emotions here. And besides the attractions there you can see a lot of things! Mediterranean, Polynesia, Wild West, Mexico, China, Sesame-Aventura - each of these zones is equipped to the smallest detail and amazes its visitors with a realistic atmosphere. You need to spend at least 1-2 days of your vacation at PortAventura!
Passeing de Jaume l'el Conqueridor
Boulevard King Jaime I the Conqueror is perhaps one of the best walking spots in Salou. A majestic boulevard runs along the coastline, framed by palm trees and flowering shrubs on both sides. Many different fountains and villas delight the eye both in the daytime and in the evening. On the boulevard there is also a monument to Jaime I.
Font Lluminosa
Salou is rich in fountains, but the most famous of them is Font Lluminosa, or the Glowing Fountain. It was designed in 1973 by Carles Bouygas, the same engineer who created the Magic Fountain in Barcelona. The fountain lighting program changes every one and a half minutes and has 210 options for the play of water and light. During the high season (from early July to mid-September), the fountain is open every day, the rest of the time - only on weekends, holidays and pre-holidays.
Cybernetic fountain
From early July to mid-September, anyone can enjoy the laser show, which is held daily at the cybernetic (sometimes called the singing) fountain, free of charge. The show is 20 minutes long and includes a whole show of water, lasers and music. Those who want to make themselves more comfortable and watch the show with comfort are better off arriving in advance, because there are a lot of people willing.
Torre Vella de Salou
This structure dates back to the 16th century and was used to track down pirates. Now it is called simply - Torre Vella de Salou - Old Tower. From the outside, the building has not changed at all and still looks austere and cold. But inside the tower, residents of the city and tourists are now hospitably welcomed to art exhibitions.
Parc Municipal de Salou
On one of the main market streets of Salou, there is a city park - Parc Municipal de Salou, which contains all kinds of plants, several ponds and colorful fish. A small and very quiet park, in which there are almost never crowds of people, it will be a great place for a relaxing holiday and unity with nature.
Parròquia de Santa Maria del Mar
The oldest church in Salou is Parròquia de Santa Maria del Mar. Its name literally translates as "Holy Mary on the sea." The small church was built in 1776, but in the first half of the 20th century it was partially destroyed. After the restoration work, the church was significantly expanded and decorated with paintings and paintings.
Masía Catalana
Masía Catalana, or Catalan Manor. The ancient estates are usually called Masiyas, but this one was erected in 1974 as a theme park reflecting the events of Christmas. A large area of the estate depicts events related to Jesus in detail. The park adjacent to the estate is filled with houses that are realistic replicas of the homes of Spanish peasants.
Playa de llevant
Llevant Beach stretches along the entire Boulevard of King Jaime I the Conqueror and is the largest and most popular beach in Salou. Palm trees, fountains, shops and all kinds of entertainment make this beach the most crowded, but there is enough space for everyone.
Playa de los Capellanes
Capellans Beach is a very small beach with a length of just over 200 meters. There are usually slightly fewer people there than on the rest of the city's beaches. The thing is that to get to the beach, you need to go down a very long staircase, and then, of course, go back up. But the journey is worth it, and not only because of the excellent beach holiday, but also because of the stunning views that open from the beach to the two cliffs framing the bay. Wooden paths are built along the rocks on both sides, from which you can enjoy the grandeur of the stone cliffs and the endless expanses of the Mediterranean Sea.
