Step 1
Find out what documents you need to enter the selected country. To which countries (usually the CIS countries) a Russian citizen does not need a visa at all, some states will supply you with a visa upon arrival at the airport for a certain fee, but to travel to most countries you will have to obtain a visa at the embassy.

Consider where you will live abroad. This is necessary not only for your own safety, but also for obtaining a visa. If you are planning to stay at the hotel, please book in advance and print your confirmation receipt. If you are visiting friends, ask them to send you an invitation.

Purchase tickets to the country of departure. To do this, study the prices for rail, road and air transportation. In some cases, buying a ticket for a charter flight is cheaper than getting to your destination by train. Remember that the earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper it will cost you.
Step 4
Go to the website of the embassy of the country you are going to travel to and read the rules for obtaining a visa. Select the type of visa you are going to receive (tourist, work, single-entry, multiple-entry). Prepare the necessary documents: a certificate from the place of work, a certificate of income, a photograph. Fill out the form if it is posted on the site. Then call the embassy and schedule an interview at a convenient date for you.
Step 5
After you have obtained all the necessary documents, you just have to collect your suitcases. If you are going to fly by plane, remember that they have their own baggage rules. Find out how many kilograms you can carry for free (rates vary from airline to airline). You can take personal items such as baby food, umbrella, laptop with you to the salon, but nail scissors and your favorite perfume should be checked in. If you are going to travel by land transport, simply do not carry prohibited things across the border - edged weapons, some foodstuffs.

Arrive early for boarding. After your ticket is checked and you go through passport control, make yourself comfortable - you are practically abroad.
