Despite its modest size and historical pallor, Lithuania is a rather attractive country from a tourist point of view. However, the visa regime held back the tourist ardor for some time, but since the country's accession to Schengen, the situation has changed. Lithuania is one of the EU countries, respectively, obtaining a visa is governed by the principles of the Convention on the Application of the Schengen Agreement.

Instructions

Step 1

In order for the visa to be in your hands, collect and submit to the official representation the necessary documents that establish your identity, the purpose of the trip, etc.

Step 2

According to the Convention, you can get a visa in the following cases:

- Lithuania is the main destination of your trip;

- if you intend to visit other countries of the Schengen agreement, but plan to stay in Lithuania mainly;

- through Lithuania, the entry into the Schengen area will be carried out (in the event that it is difficult to determine the preferred country of residence).

Step 3

Before applying for a visa, decide what type of document you need: business visa, tourist, transit, guest, national or FTD. Its registration takes from 5 to 10 days, but this period may be extended due to newly discovered circumstances.

Step 4

When applying for a visa to the Republic of Lithuania, you must provide the following package of documents:

- international passport (its validity period must exceed the validity period of the requested visa by at least 3 months);

- Application for a Schengen visa, completed and signed by the applicant personally. For minor citizens, the application is signed by parents or legal representatives;

- 2 color photographs in the size of 3, 5x4, 5 mm (no more than a year ago and with a face image of at least 70%);

- passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and copies of all pages;

- insurance policy for the period of the requested visa (the amount of insurance must be at least 30 thousand euros per person);

- a document confirming the purpose of the trip to Lithuania;

- consular fee;

- documents confirming your solvency (statement of the state of the bank account, received no later than five working days before the date of submission of documents for a visa).

Step 5

An application for a visa must be submitted no earlier than 3 months in advance of the planned trip. The submitted documents must contain complete and reliable information, which you confirm with a signature in the visa application. If there are signs of forgery or the data does not correspond to reality, this will lead to a refusal to issue a visa or to a ban on entry into the territory of Lithuania.
