Connoisseurs of architecture, extreme lovers, and fans of green tourism will be able to have a good rest in Ukraine. In addition, this hospitable country can offer its guests excellent ski, beach and balneological resorts, as well as a wide range of various historical attractions.
Mountains and sea
The majestic Carpathians are the ideal choice for a quiet and relaxing pastime. They are perfect for both summer and winter recreation, as there are centuries-old legends about the Carpathian nature and the fresh, healing air of the mountains. The most beautiful places in the Carpathians are considered Manyavsky waterfall, Mukachevo castle, border fortress Tustan, Synevyr lake, Nevitsky castle and a church in the village of Rozgirche. In summer in the mountains you can fish, pick berries, swim in lakes and streams, or you can just enjoy your vacation in cozy hotels and estates.
Going to the Carpathians, remember that compartment tickets for popular Uzhgorod and Lviv trains are often sold out two weeks before the departure date.
The usually sleepy Crimea, which resembles a lively anthill at the height of the holiday season, does not lose its popularity either. In August, a massive influx of tourists begins, so prices for food and accommodation skyrocket, long lines appear in shops, and there is literally nowhere to sit on the beach. Therefore, it is better to go to Crimea in early or mid-summer in order to get a good and more or less cheap vacation. Large cities such as Alushta, Yalta, Sudak are ideal for young people who love parties, while families with children are more comfortable in Crimean sanatoriums and boarding houses.
Regional complexes and green tourism
You can well spend your summer in Ukraine by visiting Poltava, Cherkassk, Vinnitsa or Chernihiv regions. They have long been famous for their natural beauty, quiet and calm towns, delicious Ukrainian cuisine and the friendliness of the owners of the estates. For fishing and boating, the bank of the Southern Bug River in the Vinnytsia region is perfect, where you can relax in front of a fire, wallow in the hayloft and enjoy the picturesque views.
Chernihiv region is known for its National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Kachanivka". The magnificent park and mansion of the reserve are spread over 732 hectares, where you can ride in a chaise and horseback, fish and walk in a dense forest.
Since the parks of the Chernihiv region are spread over a large area, it is better to move around them by your own car or bicycle, not relying on local buses.
In the Cherkasy region, you will be given the opportunity to live in places of the so-called green tourism and get acquainted with the local flavor, which includes the estate-museum of the great Ukrainian poet T. G. Shevchenko, horseback riding and cycling excursions.
