If parents go on vacation, then, of course, they often want to take their children with them. But from a legal point of view, children are not yet independent, therefore, in order to travel with them, various documents may be required.

Step 1
Distinguish between document requirements when crossing border control and the list of certificates that various embassies require for a visa. If you are heading to a country where you do not need a visa, then the child can leave with one parent, the consent of the second should not be asked from you. But various countries that do not allow Russians to visit them without a visa may require any kind of certificates and documents; these requirements must be clarified in advance at the consulate or visa center.
Step 2
If a child is traveling with two parents, then he must have a birth certificate. It can be either original or a copy, but in this case it is required to certify it with a notary. The certificate is accompanied by a paper stating that the child has Russian citizenship, a visa stamp is put on this paper if there is no foreign passport.
Step 3
The second document that is required to travel with two parents is a foreign passport. Today, a passport is issued to any children, even the smallest, including newborns. You can also enter the child in the passport of one of the parents, but only if it is an old passport. If the parents have biometric passports, then the child registered there cannot travel without his document. It is recommended that the child make his own passport.
Step 4
Even if a child travels with two parents, some countries require them to draw up a “cross power of attorney” against each other. This is done so that if one of the parents returns earlier or on a different route, then the other with the child could still travel without any problems. It is better to clarify the need for such a document at the consulate.
Step 5
According to Russian laws, a child can leave the country accompanied by one of the parents; the consent of the other is optional. This is a requirement of the Russian border control. The control of another country may have its own opinion on this matter.
Step 6
If any visa state requires the consent of the second parent to leave the child, then draw up this document with a notary. Often a notarized translation is required. If there is no second official parent, then you need to confirm this fact. As confirmation, they use a certificate from the registry office that only one parent is recorded in the child's documents, or that the second parent has died or has been deprived of parental rights.
Step 7
A child who travels abroad alone must have a passport with him, sometimes a birth certificate, as well as parental consent to travel, translated and certified by a notary. If the child is traveling with an accompanying person, parental consent to leave is still necessary.
