Bad hotels with unfriendly staff, or insects in the room, unfortunately, can be found in any country. Therefore, it is so important to spend a little time looking for the hotel that suits you according to all criteria.

Step 1
Decide how long you expect to be directly in the hotel room. If you are going on a trip, the main purpose of which is to see as many attractions as possible, go shopping, get to know the life of the local population, choose a hotel that is located close to cultural monuments, transport stops and main road junctions. And if you want to take a break from the noise, get some sleep, re-read all the novelties of books that have not been reached at home, look for a hotel in a quiet place, away from the city center and entertainment venues.
Step 2
Book hotels on major sites or trusted travel agencies. Ask for advice from friends and acquaintances who have already been to the places where you are going to travel. Usually, people are happy to share details about their vacation, and someone else's experience can help you avoid your own mistakes.

Pay attention to the number of stars in the hotel description and its price. The more stars a hotel has, the more fashionable and comfortable it is. However, in different countries the system of assigning a status to a hotel is different. A four-star hotel in Egypt is not at all the same as a four-star hotel in Italy, for example. However, the price for a 5-star hotel in Turkey will be much lower than for a similar hotel in Nice or Rome.

Read carefully the description of hotels on the sites for booking accommodation. Find out the year the hotel was built, where it is located, whether there is a transfer from the airport, when was the last renovation, what list of services is offered. Pay attention to the hotel restaurant menu, especially if you are booking an all-inclusive hotel. After all, an unusual, too spicy or just unpalatable food can greatly prevent you from enjoying your vacation.
Step 5
Be critical of hotel reviews. Different people may have completely different impressions of the same place. For some, details such as the color of the sheets, the lack of hot coffee in the morning, or the small number of TV channels in the room are absolutely not important. Others go into hysterics, because the bartender in the hotel restaurant smiled unfriendly, and a caterpillar crawled along the railing of the balcony. Note only those details that are important to you and do not pay attention to overly emotional statements.
