Venice is a city of lovers and true romantics, a place of annual pilgrimage for tourists, enchanting visitors with its palaces and narrow streets, canals and gondolas scurrying along them. All these features make it much more difficult to move in the ancient city.
Instructions
Step 1
Venice has 2 airports: the closest to the historic part of Venice is Marco Polo Airport, designated in international tables as VCE, and Canova Treviso Airport, more commonly referred to as Treviso Airport (VCF).
Step 2
Treviso Airport is located 30 km from the insular part of Venice. The easiest way to get there is by taking the ATVO express bus. This bus stops at Piazza le Roma, stops at the Mestre train station, and then goes to the airport. The cost of a trip by this type of transport is not burdensome even for budget travelers - it is less than 10 euros. There will be no need for transplants.
Step 3
In addition, another way to get to this airport is available - a little cheaper, but also a little more difficult. From Santa Lucia Train Station you can take a train to Mestre, from where ACTT buses leave for Treviso Airport. The total fare will be around 5-6 euros, depending on the season. You can save money by buying a bus ticket not for 2.5 euros from the driver, but for 1.8 euros in a tobacco shop.
Step 4
Marco Polo Airport is connected to the historic district of Venice by a full-time shuttle bus, moving at intervals of an average of half an hour. It picks up passengers in Piazzale Roma, the journey will cost you only 3 euros per person and will take from 20 minutes to half an hour, depending on traffic and time of day. His work schedule is from 5 am to 9 pm.
Step 5
However, if you have chosen an early departure and will have to get there at night, or simply do not want to use public transport, a taxi is at your service. A Venetian land taxi will cost you from 60 to 100 euros for the way to Marco Polo and up to 130-150 euros for the way to Treviso.
Step 6
For lovers of romance, Venice provides the opportunity to go to Marco Polo airport by water taxi along the canals of the city. But it should be borne in mind that the cost of such movement is negotiable, and it is hardly worth counting on a price below 350 euros.
