Germany attracts millions of tourists every year as it is an incredible country with a long history and unique architecture. Each German city has its own flavor, so you should definitely find an opportunity to visit at least a few of them.
Bremen
Founded in 787, Bremen is one of the oldest in Germany. It is located on the Weser River, near the North Sea. Its geographical position has made Bremen one of the richest merchant cities, famous for its hospitality. Noisy fairs have always been held here, and trade in overseas goods was brisk. The architecture of the Old Town perfectly conveys the atmosphere of bygone centuries - the Bremen Cathedral, the chic building of the City Hall, the houses of city elders and merchant guilds - literally everything demonstrates the wealth of the city.
Halle
This city is located on the Zale River, it is famous for its university, which was founded at the end of the 17th century. Previously, Halle lived by producing and trading salt, later he became the center of the chemical industry of the GDR. When most of the factories were closed after the unification of Germany, Halle became just a beautiful city with wonderful monuments of architecture and history. In the center of the city there are preserved medieval buildings, among which the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary can be distinguished.
Hanover
This city is the capital of Lower Saxony. It is called one of the greenest German cities. It hosts congresses, fairs and 5 of the largest trade and industrial exhibitions in the world. Hanover harmoniously combines history and modernity, here you can get acquainted with the architecture of various historical eras.
Leipzig
The largest city in Saxony, once the center of publishing and one of the most important German trading cities. It was badly damaged by bombing during the Second World War, as it was an important railway center for the country, but has been rebuilt. In it, you can still stroll along the streets of the XVI-XVII centuries. The great composers - Wagner, Schumann, Mendelssohn and Bach - once lived in Leipzig, and Goethe called Leipzig “little Paris”.
Nuremberg
A very beautiful city in Bavaria, which has preserved the atmosphere of medieval Germany. Some people associate it with the Nazi parades and the Nuremberg trials, but the Germans prefer to be proud of other events and sights. In Nuremberg, the globe was invented, a pocket watch on a chain, and the first railway in Germany was built here. Today Nuremberg is considered the "most German" city, it must be in the program of visiting Germany.
