The climate of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey is favorable for spending a vacation there in May, but in order to diversify the program of your stay in this country, you can take advantage of the offers of travel companies or make trips to attractions on your own.
Take the opportunity to bask in the sun and swim. At the end of May, quite comfortable conditions are established in Turkey for sunbathing (temperatures up to 28 degrees) and for water procedures (on average 20-22 degrees on the Mediterranean coast). If you are worried if it will be too cool, choose a hotel in Alanya, this is the warmest Turkish resort.
Take exciting sea trips along the Turkish coast. You can choose from recreational youth tours or sporting activities such as fishing. In any case, you will get a lot of positive emotions from such walks by sea transport, since the shores are very picturesque, especially in the region of Kemer, Marmaris. The most interesting are yacht tours visiting the islands of the Aegean Sea, including Sedir or, as it is also called, the island of Cleopatra. You can take this excursion from Marmaris.
Challenge yourself with rafting. Such entertainment programs are offered to tourists staying in the vicinity of Antalya and Marmaris. The big advantage of rafting is its relatively short duration, in addition, you can choose the complexity of the excursion based on your physical fitness. During the rafting, you will enjoy the beauty of untouched and little-known Turkey.
Go shopping. In all resorts of Turkey, life and, of course, trade are intensifying since the end of April. In addition to the outright fake, you can find many really high-quality items released under Turkish brands. Local knitwear, satin bedding and cotton clothes are especially appreciated. You can also buy traditional gifts and souvenirs, hookahs, gold jewelry. In recent years, the state has been monitoring the quality of the jewelry sold, so you can find good products at very reasonable prices.
Visit Istanbul. This city is worth living there for more than one day, but at least a couple can be distinguished within the framework of a short trip. You can get to Istanbul by bus or rented car. Unfortunately, there is no railway connection between Istanbul and the main resorts of Antalya, Marmaris and Alanya.
Do not forget about the standard excursion programs. From almost any resort place, you can go to Cappadocia, to Pamukkale, to the ancient city of Demre, where the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is located, or to ancient Ephesus.
