Step 1
Rome airport "Fiumicino", and international flights arrive at it, is located in the town of the same name and is located about 30 kilometers from the historic center of Rome. It consists of 3 terminals: A, B and C. Terminals B and C serve international lines, terminal A - only domestic flights. Usually planes from Russia arrive at Terminal C.
Step 2
You can leave this terminal in many ways: by taxi, by bus and by train. The fastest is the train - this way, you will be able to avoid traffic jams. From Fiumicino Airport there is the Leonardo Express, which is easy to find following the signs from the arrivals hall.
Step 3
A train ticket can be purchased for 11 euros at the ticket office of Stazione Aeroporto, the train station located at the airport. In half an hour, the Leonardo da Vinci Express will take you to Termini Station, Rome's central train station, from where you can get anywhere. There is also a large number of inexpensive hotels here. The train runs twice an hour and ends around midnight.
Step 4
You can leave Fiumicino airport by buses. There are two different companies at your service with slightly different routes.
Step 5
The first bus company, SitBusShuttle, runs to Termini Station with the only stop in Via Crescenzo, from where you can reach the Vatican in a few minutes on foot. A nice feature of these buses is the availability of wi-fi connection, which is important, since the journey will take at least an hour in the absence of traffic jams. The fare is 6 euros per person.
Step 6
A Cotral bus runs to Tiburtina Station, stopping at Termini Station. The way to Termini will also take about an hour and will cost 4.5 euros.
Step 7
In addition, if you need to leave the airport at night, when neither the train nor the bus runs, a taxi will come to your aid. The fare from the airport to the city center is approximately 50 euros, at night and on holidays the amount will be slightly higher.
