Amboseli National Park is located in the Loitokitok region of the Rift Valley province in the southeastern part of Kenya. The territory of the park is 392 sq. Km. The best view of Mount Kilimanjaro opens from here. But it is interesting that the giant mountain is located not only outside the territory of the reserve, but also outside the country. Kilimanjaro is located in neighboring Tanzania.

Amboseli National Park is not considered the largest park by local standards, but it is the oldest nature reserve in Kenya. In terms of the diversity of animals and birds, the Amboseli Reserve is considered one of the best not only in Africa, but throughout the world. Here you can see how animals like others live in the wild. The park is located in an arid zone, precipitation falls very rarely, so the forest area is gradually being replaced by the savannah.

The reserve is inhabited by rare ones that are on the verge of extinction. More than 300 species of birds also live here, and the most popular of them is the marabou vulture. But most of all, Amboseli is famous for its elephants, here you can find a herd of 700 elephants, peacefully wandering in search of food.

The lands of the Amboseli National Park belong to a tribe of warriors and nomadic shepherds. And today the Masai continue to live in the same way as their distant ancestors lived - they build temporary huts for housing and constantly roam in search of the best pastures for livestock. The Maasai are very popular among tourists, but you should not photograph them without asking their permission.
