If you are planning a trip to Munich, then it is worth taking a trip to the three fabulous castles in Bavaria. These three equally beautiful, but at the same time very different creations will remain in your memory for a long time.
Neuschwanstein
You need to watch this castle from all angles. The best views from the Marienbrücke bridge. The interiors of Neuschwanstein are more modest than in other castles, but they are also noteworthy. Especially the royal bedroom. You need to walk 20-30 minutes uphill to the castle, but you can also take a bus or a horse-drawn carriage (for an additional fee). Only organized excursions are allowed inside.
You can buy a ticket at the box office downstairs; tickets are not sold at the castle itself. The ticket price is 12 euros. If you are planning to take excursions in all three castles, forgive me to sell you a "single ticket", it costs 24 euros. You can get from Munich to the city of Fussen by train. Buses run from the train station to the castle.
Herrenchiemsee
This unfinished castle is a copy of Versailles. Impressive no less than its French counterpart. The palace is located on the island. The interior spaces, especially the Mirror Gallery and the porcelain study with a breathtaking chandelier and a vase of flowers from the famous Meissen porcelain, as well as the fountains in front of the palace, as well as a promenade deserve attention.
The ticket price is 8 euros. With the same ticket, you can visit the museum at the palace and the Augustinian monastery near the pier. You can get from Munich to Prien station by train, it takes about one hour.
Linderhof
This is the only castle of Ludwig II, completely completed during the life of the king. The interiors of the luxurious halls were painted by the best artists of Europe. There is something to contemplate here. The territory of the Royal Estate itself is huge. You should definitely look into the grotto of Venus: this is a fabulous man-made miracle, where scenes from Wagner's operas were staged. Marvel at the Peacock Throne in the Moorish Pavilion.
Ticket price - 8, 5 euros for a tour of the castle and a visit to the grotto of Venus. You can get from Munich to Oberau station by train (1 hour 15 minutes). From Oberau - by bus, about 20 minutes.
