India is an interesting country for Russian tourists: a warm climate, low prices, many famous attractions and the ocean coast attract people here throughout the year. To get to India, you must first obtain a visa.
The Government of India provides tourists wishing to visit the country the opportunity to complete the visa application form online.
Visa Application Form
The link to the page where the visa application form is laid out is located directly on the website, which the government of the country has specially created to inform interested persons about various visa issues. On the main page of the site, which contains information in English, there is a direct link to the visa application form, which is indicated by the Online application link.
During a certain transitional period, while this tool was in the stage of testing and revision, the consulates of India accepted both ordinary paper questionnaires and electronic questionnaires. However, after the final debugging of the service, all consulates operating in Russia finally switched exclusively to accepting questionnaires filled in online. This happened back in 2012.
Filling out the questionnaire
By clicking on the Online application link with the left mouse button, you will be taken to the page with the questionnaire form. It contains several pages, each of which is mandatory. However, it is not necessary to do this in one go: you can save the information entered and then return to it. You just need to save a special code, which, when you get to the page with the form, is highlighted in its upper part and is indicated by the Temporary Application ID: the number of the code that needs to be saved is highlighted in foil color.
The first step in the process of filling out the visa application form is to select the diplomatic mission to which the applicant belongs. There are three main options here - consulates in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Vladivostok. In this case, the choice of the required consulate is determined in accordance with the permanent place of residence of the applicant.
Then you should fill in the standard fields that are present in almost every visa application form - last name, first name, date of birth, nationality, passport data and other similar information. The questions in the questionnaire are given in English, and you must also fill it out in English. However, they are so simple that even a person who does not know the language, with the help of any electronic translator, is able to cope with this task. Please note that the required fields are marked with a red asterisk. Other fields should be filled in only if you have information on this issue; if it is absent, the field can be left blank.
After completing the process of filling out the questionnaire, it will need to be printed in PDF format: this opportunity is also provided by the site on which you filled out the questionnaire. A printed and signed application form along with other documents required for obtaining an Indian visa will need to be submitted for consideration to the consulate.
