In the modern world, travel outside of your country is becoming easier and more affordable. It is always pleasant to get new emotions and impressions from a place where you have never been before.
Nevertheless, there are several points on our planet where they are not always ready to hospitably and amicably meet travelers. Here are some of them.
1. Aleppo, Syria
This largest city in Syria was once the country's trade center. Some kinds of art, sports were born here, schools flourished. However, in the modern world, this ancient city with a rich culture and history has become the center of the civil war that broke out in 2011. Today the entire country has been recognized as a war zone and is unsafe to travel.
2. Caracas, Venezuela
For several years now, the Venezuelan economy has been in a deep crisis. And Caracas, the country's capital, has become home to violence and gang wars. Now this picturesque city, once beloved by tourists, is not ready to provide its guests with comfortable conditions for recreation.

There is nothing worse than living in a city or country where law enforcement agencies are subordinate to the representatives of the underworld. This is a sad truth that fits with the current state of affairs in Ciudad Juarez. The city has become a base for Mexican drug cartels and a center for human trafficking. Today, this is the place to be bypassed.
4. Cape Town, South Africa
South Africa is one of the continent's most attractive tourist destinations, but a visit to Cape Town should be avoided. Due to the high level of poverty of the local population, crime has increased dramatically. It is more or less safe to move around the city only during the day and in large groups.
5. Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo
For most of recent history, the Congo has been a country of political and economic instability. Today, the capital of the country, Kinshasa, is being torn apart by criminal gangs, and now the picturesque Virunga Mountains are a completely unsafe place for tourists to visit.

Civil war and widespread violence have engulfed Juba, making the city an undesirable destination for travelers. This is a very sad fact. After all, now those who wish to see such a fascinating phenomenon as the migration of various species of wild animals, must first of all take care of their safety, being among people.
7. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Although many cities in Brazil have high crime rates, Rio de Janeiro leads the ranking as a popular tourist destination. Some 10 years ago, the streets of the city were relatively safe. But recently they have been flooded with drug dealers and numerous gangs that have made Rio de Janeiro an undesirable place to travel. And although tourists still come here to enjoy their vacation on the picturesque beaches, they do so at their own peril and risk.
8. Bogota, Colombia
Bogotá is renowned for its distinctive architecture, unique artwork and impressive crime rates. Murders, kidnappings, robberies and street violence are just some of what can be encountered on the streets of this city. Unfortunately, the situation in Bogota is more the rule than the exception for other settlements in Colombia.
9. Karachi, Pakistan

Karachi is home to a number of notorious terrorist groups in the world. Murders and kidnappings are not uncommon here. Therefore, when planning a trip to Pakistan, it is worth considering whether it is generally possible for foreigners to visit such a place.
10. Mumbai, India
This city, located on the west coast of India, is the capital of the state of Maharashtra. Mumbai is home to over 10 million people. The low standard of living of a huge number of people contributes to the prosperity of fraud against tourists and local residents, physical violence, terrorist activities, which evoke feelings of constant fear. When planning a trip to India, especially alone, it is worth considering the need to visit this place.
