Instructions
Step 1
The easiest and fastest way to get to the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, is to take a plane. There are more than 15 flights from Moscow daily to Zvartnots international airport, which is 12 kilometers from Yerevan. The cost of an air ticket for September 2011 ranges from 6,000 rubles and more. The flight duration ranges from 1 hour 55 minutes to 3 hours. You can get from the airport to the city by regular bus or minibus. The fare on public transport is about $ 1. Also, from the territory of Russia, you can fly to Gyumri airport, which is located 125 km from Yerevan.
Step 2
The borders of Armenia with Azerbaijan and Turkey are closed, therefore, by land transport from Russia to Armenia can only be reached through the territory of Georgia. To do this, you need to open a Georgian visa. The length of the road from Moscow to Yerevan is 2,250 km. Regular bus services to Yerevan are carried out from the Kazansky railway station in Moscow, the route runs through Rostov-on-Don, Armavir, Nalchik, Vladikavkaz and Tbilisi. Travel time is 52 hours, the ticket price for September 2011 is 3,800 rubles.
Step 3
There is no direct Moscow-Yerevan train. Currently, the railway communication between Turkey and Armenia is also closed, and this issue will not be resolved in the near future, although the countries have been negotiating for many years. You can get to Yerevan by rail only through the territory of Azerbaijan, and then Georgia. The entire journey will take more than four days. Due to the aggravation of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, the direct route from Russia to Armenia via Adler and Abkhazia is currently closed. You can get to Yerevan by rail from Tbilisi. Trains run 4 times a week, travel time is 10 hours. As of September 2011, the ticket price is $ 14.
