Such trips are always full of impressions, but do not forget about the legal side of the issue. In addition to the documents that are required when crossing borders, in some countries you will need an international driver's license.
When planning a trip abroad, be sure to consider whether a driver's license is useful to you. If you want to go on a trip by car or rent a car in the host country, then, of course, it will be simply necessary. If you are traveling on a tourist package, ask your tour operator what laws are in force on the roads in the country where you are going. In most countries it is necessary to have an international driving license.
An international driver's license (IDL) consists of a main book and a small plastic card, where the information from your main license is duplicated in 8 languages (English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese). Both the book and the plastic card have several degrees of protection: holograms and watermarks.
In order to issue an IDP in Russia, you need to provide your Russian driver's license, passport, international passport, 2 photos, original and photocopy of a medical certificate and pay a fee. The registration procedure is quite simple and does not require passing, any special tests and exams.
If you did not manage to issue an IDP in your home country, you can do it in the host country, because the International Automobile Association helps tourists to obtain documents that allow them to drive a vehicle in many countries of the world.
However, keep in mind that an international certificate without your Russian, that is, the original, is considered invalid, therefore they should be presented abroad together.
