The north and east of the island belong to the Atlantic Ocean, and the south to the Caribbean Sea. All places are good, but the choice of a hotel begins with the ocean / sea solution. Four-star hotels are as good and beautiful as five-star hotels, they have the same shining beaches, but the service is not up to par. Dominican restaurants are not to everyone's liking, so the issue of food in a 4 * hotel can be a problem, while in “five stars” food is often served around the clock or brought to the rooms free of charge.

Most hotels operate on an all-inclusive basis, but only five-star hotels can fully cover all needs. Alcohol, as a rule, is also not limited. There is a choice of different water activities, also included in the bill. Many hotels have excellent playgrounds with English-speaking staff, and even in the most luxurious of these, babysitting services rarely exceed $ 10 per hour.
Step 3
One of the most popular places in the Dominican Republic is Punta Cana. The vacation here is similar to a vacation in Turkey, but with more spectacular scenery. This part of the island provides a huge selection of luxury pompous hotels located near the ocean. Among other things, for the entertainment of tourists there are dance clubs, bars, various shops and souvenir shops.
Step 4
More recently, a large flow of tourists rushed to the town of Boca Chica, located east of Punta Cana, but now this area is considered too quiet and uninteresting. However, it is still a great diving site and its beaches are still high. Silence and a decrease in the number of tourists in recent years attract mainly young couples.

For lovers of excursions and coral reefs, the northeast of the island is more suitable: the province of Samana. From here in January-March you can see humpback whales, and although there are few hotels here, and there are practically no shopping and restaurants, rest in Samana has its own special charm. There are many interesting excursions and good hotels in Puerto Plata, but unlike the northeastern area, it is easy to find vibrant shopping malls, monuments and golf courses.

In Cabarete, the hotels are quite modest - no higher than three stars, but the rhythm of life is set by night bars, restaurants and daytime surfing. But in the area of La Romana there is one of the most luxurious and largest hotels: Casa de Campo, full of entertainment and pleasant surprises for guests. There are also good hotels on the Bayahibe beach, which is considered the best diving spot in the entire Dominican Republic.
Step 7
In order for the choice of a hotel to be successful, you should clearly define what you want from your vacation: a relaxing stay on the beach on the all-inclusive principle, diving and surfing, excursions to unusual places, etc. If, for example, from morning until late at night you plan to disappear on various excursions, then the choice of 5 * will probably be an unnecessary safety net.
