It is necessary

  • - contact the cashier of the return;
  • - present your passport;
  • - get money;
  • - buy a new ticket.

Instructions

Step 1

If the date of your travel is shifted before returning your ticket, check the availability of seats on the trains for the date you are interested in. If there are enough tickets, take care of returning the existing document.

Step 2

If you have purchased a paper ticket, please contact the ticket refund office. Keep in mind that if you are going to hand over not only yours, but also the tickets of relatives or friends, you will need a notarized power of attorney for each document. Show the cashier your internal passport and power of attorney (if necessary). Sign the required papers and get paid for the returned ticket.

Step 3

If you have an electronic train ticket, the first step is to visit the website where it was booked. Go to your personal account and cancel your reservation. Write down your order number and contact the ticket office to return your ticket. Show your internal passport, sign the documents and take your money.

Step 4

Buy a new ticket at the Russian Railways ticket offices, at ticket offices that sell air and railway tickets, or at travel agencies that sell train tickets. If you have a bank card, book your document online directly on the Russian Railways website or on one of the specialized travel ticket sites. Please note that if you purchase your ticket online, you will be able to electronically check in for the train. In this case, you do not need a paper ticket to board. Show your passport to the conductor and go to the compartment.

Step 5

Do not forget that by returning your ticket, you will lose some of your money. You will not be refunded commissions and other fees (except insurance). In addition, you will have to pay a fee of 60 rubles for the return (cost may vary).

Step 6

Remember that the fare is made up of the cost of a ticket (railway transportation) and a reserved seat (a berth in the carriage). If you are traveling in Russia, when you return your ticket, you will receive:

- if there are more than 8 hours before the train departure - the full fare;

- if there are less than 8, but more than 2 hours left - the full cost of the ticket and half the cost of the reserved seat;

- if there are less than 2 hours left before departure and less than 12 hours after departure - the full cost of the ticket.

Step 7

In international traffic, the following rules are provided:

- if there is more than 24 hours before the train departure, the entire fare is refunded;

- less than 24 hours, but more than 6 hours before the train departure - the entire ticket price and half of the reserved seat cost are refunded;

- less than 6 hours before train departure and less than 3 hours after departure - full ticket price is refunded.
