To obtain a passport, you can fill out an application for a passport on the website of the State Service. To do this, you need to register there. It should be remembered that it can take about two weeks from the moment of registration until the receipt of the PIN code. The fastest way to get an activation code is at the Rostelecom office. You also need to find out if there is a dedicated office in your city in the FMS or a separate day for accepting questionnaires from those who filled them out on the site.
If you nevertheless decide to fill out an online passport application, you must first take care of the photo.
You will need an electronic photograph that must meet the following requirements:
1. File type: JPEG;
2. Maximum size: 300 Kb;
3. Aspect ratio (W x H): 35 x 45
Requirements for the image in the photo:
1. It must match the appearance of the applicant on the date of application.
2. It is necessary that the face is evenly illuminated.
3. Light one-color background.
4. No headgear and dark glasses.
5. Retouching is not allowed.
When submitting documents to the FMS, you will also need paper photographs. You can agree with the photographer to give you a photo in paper and electronic form.
The passport is photographed directly upon submission of documents.
So, the photo has been prepared, start filling out the questionnaire.
Make sure the location is correct before filling in. It depends on where your profile is sent. In order to correctly fill out the application for a foreign passport, use the pop-up tips that appear when you hover the cursor over the corresponding field of the application.
It is better to fill out the questionnaire in capital letters, as you will also need a paper version.
Step one. Consent to the processing of personal data. Agree.
Step two. Choose the department of the Federal Migration Service where you will receive your passport. Fill in the fields with your full name. Indicate if there was a change of surname. Do not forget to indicate your country of residence. Fill in the place of residence by registration.
Step three. Fill in your passport details. The purpose of obtaining a passport is “For temporary trips abroad”. Obtaining a passport - “Primary” if you get it for the first time. If you already had a passport - “Replace the used one”. Answer all further questions honestly.
If during your studies or work there was a 3rd form of admission, to the question "Did you have access to information of special importance or top secret information classified as a state secret during the period of work (study, service)?" the answer should be “No”. This form is not an obstacle.
Step four. Labor activity over the past 10 years. You have to be especially careful here. If, for example, it is January 2014, then be the first to fill out the place of work where you worked in January 2004. Indicate only those places of work that are recorded in the work book. If there were breaks in work for more than a month, in the column "Position with an indication of the organization" you need to indicate "Did not work (s)", and in the column "Address of the place of work (country, city, region, locality)" indicate your address by registration.
If you have an old passport on hand, do not forget to indicate this.
Step five. Loading a photo. After downloading, click the "Apply" button.

The answer to the mail about the verification and acceptance of the questionnaire usually comes within an hour. Further, another letter will come about the need to come to the FMS for photographing with documents and a paid receipt for state duty.
Remember! You can only apply for yourself and your minor children. Other relatives need a personal account.
