They will begin to expressively look directly into the soul, substitute their backs for stroking, rub against their feet and in every possible way establish contact … in the hope that they will get a tidbit. “Where did so many of them come from? Did they eat all the locals? - a crazy thought will creep in to you. Of course not. They were brought here by fishermen, when the island was infested with barbaric rats, mercilessly spoiling fishing tackle. It was necessary to do something urgently.
So Aoshima was filled with cats, and the rats left him in disgrace. Cats live here very frivolously. The island more than provides them with everything they need for a cloudless existence: the soft rays of the warm gentle sun, the ocean, in which, plenty of food, there are many abandoned abandoned houses. Now from the local population there are only 15 people left. Most of the residents have dispersed to neighboring cities in search of a better life.
