The palace located in Versailles can be called one of the most famous palaces in France. This beautiful building still attracts many tourists from all over the world who want to see with their own eyes all the greatness of the building's architecture.
The construction of this magnificent building was begun by King Louis XIV of France. This event took place in 1662. The construction work was carried out according to a special project of the local architect Louis le Vau. This was only the first stage of construction. According to numerous historians, construction began after Louis saw the castle, which is called Vaux-le-Vicomte.
As a result of the second phase, which began in 1668, new buildings were built around the throne room. The third (and final) construction phase was attended by over 30,000 people. Among them were artisans and ordinary workers, and the construction of the palace itself lasted about 10 years.
Throughout the construction of the castle, almost all famous architects at that time, who had vast experience in this matter, took part in the construction of the castle. These include such famous people at that time as Jules Hardouin, André Le Notre and Charles Lebrun.
In 1670, the front part of the facade of the palace was completed by the architect François d'Aubrey. The construction of the Palace of Versailles was finally completed by 1677.
After the construction, many famous dynasties who lived within the walls of this castle made various adjustments to it. Only by 1830 the palace was finally rebuilt and completed.
