Biysk is often called a science city, since it is here that a huge number of educational institutions are located. This settlement is the second largest among all the cities of the Altai Territory.

Today it is most convenient to get to Biysk by train. The Biysk railway station serves only one passenger train and two commuter trains. The local railway station is the final destination for trains No. 601/602 "Biysk - Novosibirsk" and suburban trains running between Biysk and Barnaul. Travel time on the route "Biysk - Novosibirsk" is approximately 10 hours, but you can get to Biysk from Barnaul in just 3 hours.
Step 2
The Altai Territory has a fairly well developed intercity bus service, especially in Biysk. Flights to Barnaul, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Gorno-Altaysk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk and Rubtsovsk depart daily from the local bus station. In particular, the travel time from Novosibirsk to Biysk by bus will be about 5.5 hours.
Step 3
If a tourist has a driver's license, he can get to Biysk by his own car. This settlement is located on the 364th kilometer of the Chuysky tract highway "R 256" (in some maps - "M 52"). The road begins in Novosibirsk, passes through Berdsk, Biysk, Berezovka, the Altai Republic, and then goes to the state border with Mongolia. You can also get to Biysk using the following highways: "R 366" "Biysk - Novokuznetsk", "R367" "Martynovo - Zalesovo", "R375" "Biysk - Artybash" and "R368" "Biysk - Belokurikha".
Step 4
There is no passenger river service in Biysk, the local port serves only cargo ships sailing along the Biya river. There is an airport in this settlement, but it can only receive relatively small planes (An-24, L-410, An-2) and helicopters. In 2009, the airport was closed and mothballed, in 2013 the government took up the issue of overhauling the airport and resuming regular flights between Biysk and neighboring regions.
