The Parisian authorities have introduced a dress code on the city's beaches. Now, on the banks of the Seine, you cannot appear in bathing suits that do not hide intimate parts of the body, as well as topless.
The city police will keep a watchful eye on this.
Tough sanctions have been introduced for violators of the bans. Overly exposed bathing suits threaten their wearers with a year in prison. Those sunbathing without a top part of a swimsuit will face fines ranging from 38 to 3750 euros. It is not yet clear what signs will affect the amount of the fine. Also, in accordance with the decree, those convicted of sexual harassment on the beaches can be separated from freedom for up to two years.
The authorities of Paris annually organize city beaches with the help of tons of imported sand, installed umbrellas, sun beds and showers, operating from mid-July to mid-August. This is how the Seine River embankment is transformed in summer. Lovers of thongs and merging with nature in the nude now have nothing to do here.
Pascal Scherky, who is in charge of sports at the Paris mayor's office, said that bare breasts and barely covered priests can agitate others so much that dangerous situations begin to be created near the water. Well, there should be peace on the beaches. Therefore, the authorities of the French capital decided to get rid of naked and half-naked people on the banks of the Seine.
By the way, its left bank in the center of Paris from the Alma Bridge to the Orsay Museum for two and a half kilometers by the spring of 2013 will become a completely pedestrian zone with parks, bike paths and beaches.
On this occasion, one cannot but say that the new legislative initiative of the City of Paris also affects the dress code in city parks. From now on, you cannot wear them in swimsuits. The official website of the Metropolitan Police warns that the appearance of park visitors must comply with moral standards and not violate public order.
So the capital of fashion and love is trying to get hold of a new image. The path is thorny. More recently, officials fought with a burqa and other clothing that covers the face, now they have taken up the neckline and bare buttocks.
Elderly Parisians met the bill with approval, but among young people such strictness caused discontent.
