Step 1
When visiting Ukraine, a visa is not always required. If you are a citizen of the Russian Federation or a citizen of the CIS countries, then you do not need to apply for a visa in advance, just present your general civil or foreign passport to the border with Ukraine. Similar conditions for entering the country also exist for citizens of the EU, Japan, USA, Canada, Switzerland, but for them visa-free stay in the country is limited to 90 days. For a longer period, it is necessary to fill out a questionnaire and provide other documents for obtaining a visa.
Step 2
If you are a citizen of the Russian Federation, then you go through the procedure for entering the territory of Ukraine as follows. You fill out a migration card at the border control points of Ukraine and Russia.
Step 3
Next, they put a mark on your entry into the country in your passport and migration card. Subsequently, when you leave, return the migration card back to the border services. If, upon entering the country, you present a general civil passport, then entry and exit stamps are not put there, they are only put on the migration card.
Step 4
In addition to the above documents, you do not need to present anything else, neither a questionnaire, nor a certificate from work, nor any others. True, there is an exception, it applies to people entering the territory of Ukraine with minor children. They need to have the following documents with them:
- for a child under 14 years old, the original birth certificate is required, the certificate must indicate his citizenship.
- for a child over 14 years old, the original of the internal passport or the child's passport is required
- the original of the parent's internal and foreign passport.
