Thailand is one of the most popular countries for Russian tourists. There are many reasons for this. The cheapness of recreation, mild climate, ocean, oriental exoticism - all this attracts travelers. In addition, since March 24, 2007, entry to Thailand for Russians has become visa-free. However, there are several conditions for the smooth passage of customs control.

Step 1
First of all, check the validity of your passport. It must be at least six months from the date of entry into Thailand. The appearance of the passport must be in perfect order. Pay attention that there are no dirty, wrinkled, torn pages. This can call into question your identity and serve as a reason for refusing entry into the territory of the state. Also, you must show the Thai customs officers money at the rate of $ 500 per person and a return ticket. If everything is in order, you are given an entry stamp, and you get the right to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days.
Step 2
If you need to stay in Thailand for more than a month, you still have to get a visa. This can be done at the consulate of this state. The maximum period for which a tourist visa is issued to Russians is 2 months. Plus, you can extend it for another month already in Thailand, at the immigration office.
Step 3
If you are planning to spend more than three months in Thailand, this is also possible. But then you will have to go to one of the neighboring states - Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia or Vietnam after the expiration of your visa or entry stamp. By the way, some of these states have also canceled the visa regime for Russians. There you stay for a while, see the sights, and return to the Thai kingdom. And at the customs they put the cherished stamp on you, allowing you to stay in the state for another 30 days. But you shouldn't practice this often. If customs officials find you abusing the visa-free regime, you have the right to be refused entry into the country.
Step 4
The following can expect to receive an annual non-tourist multivisa:
- retirees who have reached the age of 50 and have at least 800,000 baht (about USD 20,000) in their account with a Thai bank;
- Citizens planning to open their own business in the territory of the Thai Kingdom;
- our compatriots planning to study languages in Thailand (English or Thai).
The conditions for obtaining these visas must be clarified at the consulate of the kingdom, as they tend to change from time to time.
