It should be noted right away that not everyone needs visas to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan. All CIS countries, Turkey and Mongolia are on the visa-free list. Foreign citizens of other states can enter Kazakhstan only with a visa.

Step 1
Registration and issuance of visas is carried out on the basis of a written request and the provision of relevant documents both to the foreign missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and on its territory by the Department of the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Migration Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Step 2
Visas are issued for one, two, three or more visits. The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for 13 categories of visas. Accredited diplomats, members of their families, representatives of international organizations, heads of state and government enjoy the right to obtain a diplomatic visa. Service visas are issued to persons traveling to Kazakhstan on official business.
Step 3
Representatives of the management of foreign companies providing investments in the economy of the republic are issued an investor visa. Foreigners traveling for business purposes receive business and private visas. For foreign citizens making tourist trips, a tourist visa is provided. If they are going to engage in religious and educational activities, then they can be issued a missionary visa.
Step 4
For those arriving for study and treatment, appropriate visas are also provided. Taking into account the processes associated with labor migration, this category of persons has the right to count on obtaining a work visa. In the event that foreign citizens, after the appropriate application, receive a permanent residence permit, they will be issued a permanent residence visa.
Step 5
When leaving the country with the permission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they receive an exit visa. The same visa is obtained by foreigners who have lost their passports and persons expelled from Kazakhstan by a court decision. A transit visa is issued to travel through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
