Instructions
Step 1
In the summer of 2010, during a visit to Istanbul by President Dmitry Medvedev, an agreement was reached on the mutual abolition of visas between Russia and Turkey. After going through all the formalities, the changes took effect on April 17, 2011. Now tourists arriving in Turkey on vacation for a period not exceeding 30 days do not need to obtain a visa.
Step 2
In order to be allowed to enter this country, you need to have:
- a passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of the end of the trip;
- a tourist voucher or a return plane ticket;
- funds in the amount of at least 300 US dollars.
In fact, apart from the passport, Turkish customs officers do not check anything. But what if you are the one who will be asked to present the necessary documents and money? If you do not have them, they have every right to refuse entry.
Step 3
You have the right to stay in Turkey without a visa for no more than 30 days. But for another 180 days, you can enter and leave the country without being marked in your passport. The main thing is that the total period of stay in Turkey is no more than 90 days.
Step 4
If you plan to stay there longer, you will need a visa. To obtain it, you need to contact the Foreigners Department of the Security Directorate of Turkey. This must be done no later than the 30th day of stay in this country. These institutions are open in all popular resorts - Bodrum, Alania, Antalya, Marmaris and, of course, in the capital - Istanbul.
Step 5
In order for you to be given a residence permit in Turkey for up to 3 months, you need to bring:
- international passport, which is valid for more than 3 months from the date of expiry of the visa;
- a certificate from the bank on the availability of sufficient funds in the account, or a document on the purchase and sale of currency;
- hotel voucher or contract for rent / purchase of housing;
- 4 color photographs in 3x4 format.
Step 6
The security officer will ask you to fill out an application and pay for the residence permit (approx. 150 TL). The fee for the very service of issuing such a permit for 3 months is $ 30.
