As it turned out, a visa to Vietnam is very easy to make. First, determine how long you plan to arrive in this state.
If you plan to stay in Vietnam for up to 15 days, you do not need a visa. In this case, you only need a passport; they can also selectively check return tickets or tickets to a third country. If there are no tickets, you can simply say that you are planning to buy tickets to Cambodia from Vietnam. Further, if you want to stay in Vietnam for more than 15 days, you can easily get a visa in Vietnam, many agencies are engaged in this.
The visa can be made for 1, 3 or 6 months. It can be a tourist or business visa. There is no particular difference in design. A visa can be issued in several ways: at the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow and consulates in Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok; through a travel agency (it will do everything that you can easily do, it only charges you money for it), as well as at the Vietnam airport upon arrival (at Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang or Hanoi airport).
The easiest and most inexpensive way is the third, to apply for a visa at the airport, and a visa for Russians at the airport is issued free of charge.
To do this, you will need:
- passport (its validity must be at least 3 months before the end of your stay in Vietnam);
- photo 4 * 6 (just in case, take 2 photos, some sources indicate that you need 2 photos, but they took only 1 from us);
- visa invitation (Approval letter). This is an invitation from a Vietnamese organization to visit their country. An invitation can be ordered online, for example, https://www.vietnam-visa-service.com/information/Sample-of-Vietnam-visa-approval-letter.asp#Visa-apprival-letter-on-arrival. Click below on the blue inscription "Check service fee and apply Vietnam visa online now" and proceed to enter the data. The following data must be entered:
- Place to get your visa - choose "At Vietnam airport, on arrival", which means that you will make a visa upon arrival at the Vietnam airport;
- Airport of Arrival - write the name of the airport you are arriving at, for example, "Ho Chi Minh, Tan Son Nhat";
- Visa type - choose the type of visa (1-month tourist or business visa (single or business visa (i.e. a visa with the ability to enter and leave Vietnam several times), 3-month business visa (single or multi visa We chose a 3-month single-entry business visa (and then there were no problems with the fact that in the questionnaire we wrote that the purpose of our visit was tourism);
- Number of applicant (s) - the number of people for whom a visa invitation is made, here you will immediately find out the cost of your invitation, it varies from 15 to 25 $ per person in different seasons, and a visa invitation for several people at once will cost less;
- Processing time - the time during which you need a visa. Within 3 working days it is done free of charge, further, the less time you want to receive your visa invitation, the more expensive it will be. We chose "in 3 working days" and we received an invitation in less than a day. Moreover, it is worth noting that the organization works only on weekdays, so if you want to get a visa on a weekend, it will cost you dearly;
- Total visa service charge - here is the amount that you will have to pay for a visa invitation;
- Date of arrival - date of arrival in Vietnam;
- Date of exit - date of departure from Vietnam;
Next, enter the details of your passport;
- Full name - full name in English letters, as in your passport;
- Gender - gender (male - male, female - female);
- Date of Birth - date of birth;
- Nationality - choose your nationality;
- Passport Number - passport number.
If you are making a visa invitation for 2 people, then a plate appears to enter the same information for the person who is flying with you.
Next, enter your contact information: Primary Email - your email address to which you will be sent a ready-made visa invitation. Only fields marked with an asterisk are required.
Then enter the numbers from the picture and click the "Review my visa application" button. You pay with a regular bank card and wait for your visa invitation to be sent to your mail.
You will need a printed and completed application form for a visa to Vietnam (you can fill it in by hand with an ordinary pen, fill in 2 copies, but we were asked at the airport only 1 application form). The questionnaires are issued free of charge at the airport, but you will save time if you fill it out in advance.

- Địa chỉ cư trú hiện nay - residence address;
- Trẻ em cùng đi (Họ tên, ngày sinh, quan hệ) - indicate children under 16 years old (surname and name, date of birth, who they are to you);
- Mục đích nhập xuất cảnh - the purpose of the visit to Vietnam (business or tourism);
- Tên, địa chỉ cơ quan, tổ chức; hoặc họ tên quan hệ địa chỉ của thân nhân ở Việt Nam nơi làm việc hoặc thăm - the address of the organization that hosts you in Vietnam (here you indicate the name of the organization that will make you a visa invitation, which is described in the previous paragraph. The name of this organization is indicated in the title visa invitation. After the words "Kinh gứri" the state body issuing the invitation is indicated, after the word "To" the organization that makes this invitation to you is indicated, respectively, you write the name of the organization indicated after the word "To");
- Thời gian dự kiến NXC Việt Nam - duration of stay in Vietnam;
- Từ ngày - from what date;
- Đến ngày - up to what date;
- Cửa khẩu NXC Việt Nam - place of arrival (city and airport of Vietnam);
- Tôi cam đoan những nội dung trên đây là đúng sự thật - I guarantee the correctness of the above information and am responsible for it;
- Làm tại - place of filling out the questionnaire (for example, Moscow);
- Ngày - date of filling out the questionnaire;
- Ký tên is your signature.
With all these documents, immediately after arrival at the airport, you come to the window "Visas upon arrival" and that's it. Moreover, return tickets are not needed for a long time. Now you just wait for your passport with a visa to be issued to you (it takes from 15 minutes to 1 hour).
