A decoy is a device that is capable of imitating the voices of animals and birds. The name reflects the very essence: with its help, the hunter lures the animal. There are both mechanical and electronic decoys. However, the latter are becoming the most popular, since they are devoid of all the disadvantages of mechanical models.

Step 1
The stores offer a wide range of electronic decoys. True, not every hunter can afford to buy such a device. If you are creative and have a desire, you can try to create the device yourself, purchasing only the necessary parts. However, experts in this field note that in reality everything turns out to be much more complicated than it might seem from the very beginning. So is it still possible to make a good quality working decoy?

From practice it is clear that such a possibility exists, but you will have to spend a lot of time and effort on creating. To begin with, you need a sound reproducing device that has high power and is capable of broadcasting sound over a long distance. Do not consider such an option as a tape recorder. Even in compact form, it can be too heavy and uncomfortable, which will clearly interfere with your hunting. Compared to the store decoy, a mobile phone equipped with even a very good speaker will also lose.
Step 3
For the device to function successfully, one more detail is important: record the sound of the mating call of the bird (animal) you need, or the call for feeding. Note that only such a recording has a chance, simple animal voices or sounds of the forest will not bring you absolutely any benefit.
Step 4
If you want to buy a decoy in a store, then consider what kind of animal you are going to hunt (there are separate devices for luring geese, deer and other animals and birds). In addition, give preference to a hunter, a device with variable settings will most likely produce fake sounds and only harm.
Step 5
Pay special attention to the handling of the device: store it only in a clean and dry place. Make sure that dirt and various foreign bodies do not get inside the tool. If saliva gets into the decoy (which is extremely undesirable), blow it from the back side (collapsible can be thoroughly cleaned from the inside).
