Izmailovsky Island is a quiet and green corner in Moscow, which was once chosen by the royal family for their estate. Their choice is not surprising, because it is calm and uncrowded, ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
History
The landmark of Moscow - Izmailovsky Island - was created not by nature, but by human hands. He appeared here in the middle of the seventeenth century, when Tsar Aleksey Mikhaylovich decided to build a traditional yadby here. The tsar promised to connect Cerebryany and Vinogradny ponds - this is how an island surrounded by water appeared, in the center of which there was a regal residence. The head of the Russian state spent the summer months here, and after that, Peter the Great also liked to relax. On the pond, he arranged amusing "sea battles".

You can get to Izmailovsky Island by one of three bridges.
From the Izmailovsky island gorgeous views open up. The remains of the old residence are also beautiful. By the way, only the first and third gate, the Bridge Tower and the Convent of the Holy Mother of God have survived from the Tsar's palace to the present day.
Between the gates behind the gates used to be the ycadba itself - a courtyard with a multi-paneled building made of wood, churches and household premises. On the territory of the island there were oil mills, mead breweries, mills. There were even factories for the production of bricks and glass. The dishes that were made here were put on the table of the royal family and presented to foreign guests.
Even during the reign of Tsar Alexei, decorative cads were organized near the river Cepebryanka. Here there also appeared mountains, where cultures, rare for Russia, were grown. For example, melons and apyzy, grapes.
The ancient palace has not survived to this day, in 1812, during the Patriotic War, the French troops were plundered. For a long time it was empty, until Nicholas the First took the decision to establish the Izmailovo Island as a godsend for ancient warriors and war veterans.
On the site of the mansion, barracks were built, which in the 20th century under Soviet rule were converted into Kazakhs, and then completely into communal quarters. This is how the town of Bayman's name appeared here.
The entire Izmailovsky Island is buried in greenery of lindens and birches, and it is very pleasant to walk on it both in summer on hot days, and in winter, when everything is covered with snow. By the way, in summer you can rent a catamaran or a small boat and swim in the pond.
In 2007, the so-called Izmailovsky Kremlin was erected on the island, reproducing the old Russian wooden architecture, and a supermodern hotel complex of the same name was built nearby.
