Bus routes connect Ivanovo with the capital, the centers of neighboring regions, a number of other cities and towns of the Ivanovo region. This option of intercity transportation can be called the most active for the region: the choice of destination is significantly greater than when traveling from the city of brides by rail and by plane.
Ivanovo is located on the interregional highway "Golden Ring" connecting it with Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Suzdal and Vladimir. However, there is a shorter road to Yaroslavl, along which buses heading there run.
The most frequent bus service Ivanovo has with Moscow and the centers of neighboring regions: Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Vladimir. Flights to these cities leave from morning to evening, on average, once an hour. Buses to Nizhny Novgorod run somewhat less frequently (five trips per day), but they also leave throughout the day.
Up to seven flights a day are made to the city of Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir Region, and buses to Murom leave twice a day.
Buses run to Ryazan and Vologda once a day. Every other day - to Cheboksary, twice a week - to Novocheboksarsk and Ufa, once a week - to Minsk and Kazan.
During the summer holidays, flights are scheduled to the popular resorts of the Krasnodar Territory: Anapa and Gelendzhik and Sochi and Adler. These buses leave on separate days, tickets for them can be bought not only at the ticket offices of the bus station, but also in local travel agencies.

Most buses leave from the bus station on Lezhnevskaya street. The city also has a bus station next to the train station. From there, buses run mainly in the Ivanovo region. Some interregional buses also stop there, for example, to Kostroma.
Transit via Ivanovo can be attractive for those wishing to save money on the road from Moscow to Kostroma or in the opposite direction: on the night trains Moscow - Ivanovo and Moscow - Kineshma there are seating cars with a minimum ticket price, and the journey is optimal to continue by bus. The first flight from Kostroma enters the bus station at the railway station about an hour and a half after the arrival of the Moscow train. And the last in the opposite direction stops near the station about an hour before its departure in the return traffic. You need to get off at Stantsionnaya Street (the first stop of intercity buses in this direction after entering the city).
