Not far from the northern slopes of the Main Caucasian ridge, at approximately the same distance from the Black and Caspian Seas, there is a unique natural object - Caucasian Mineral Waters (KMV), a center of spa treatment. There, in a relatively small area, there are many different healing springs.
Which resort cities are part of the Caucasian Mineral Waters
The combination of the mineral waters of the North Caucasus, effectively helping with a number of diseases, with a healthy climate and exceptionally beautiful landscapes - all this has earned the Caucasian Mineral Waters well-deserved popularity. This unique recreation area includes four resort towns: Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Essentuki and Zheleznovodsk. Despite the fact that they are close to each other, their climate and composition of mineral water from different springs differ significantly. Therefore, each city specializes in the treatment of various types of diseases.
What is the specialization of each resort city in the North Caucasus
The highest of the resort towns is Kislovodsk. Therefore, the atmospheric pressure in it is lower than in Yessentuki, Zheleznovodsk and Pyatigorsk. Winter in the city is rather mild, there is little rainfall, and sunny weather prevails. Summers are warm, but extreme heat is very rare.
Sanatoriums in Kislovodsk specialize in the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system, nervous system, as well as bronchial asthma and some other diseases of the bronchi and lungs.
In Yessentuki, the climate is the most contrasting of all the resort towns of the KMV. In winter there are cold days, summers are very warm, often hot. Mineral water from local sources (among which Essentuki-4 and Essentuki-17 are the most famous) is most suitable for the treatment of a number of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, the Essentuki sanatoriums specialize in the treatment of diseases of the digestive system, as well as metabolic disorders.
Pyatigorsk, the climate of which is characterized by mild but humid winters and warm summers, offers vacationers treatment for diseases of a wide profile: the nervous system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system, as well as a number of gynecological and skin diseases.
Zheleznovodsk, characterized by a moderately dry climate and an abundance of sunny days, specializes in the treatment of urological diseases, as well as diseases of the digestive system.
The resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters were very popular back in the days of tsarist Russia, and after the October Revolution of 1917, millions of people began to receive treatment and rest there. Now this region is still ready to receive many guests from all over our country, as well as from abroad.
