Camping gas stoves have long been a faithful assistant on vacation. As a compact alternative to campfires, they are an essential piece of equipment, and their simple structure makes them easy to use.
A camping gas stove should not be confused with a gas burner. They differ in design. The gas stove has a body, which is why its dimensions are slightly larger than that of a burner. However, it is much more difficult to handle the latter without experience.
Gas stove or fire?
A bonfire is one of the components of the hike. But it is worth remembering that there are situations when it is not possible to dilute it.
The first situation is bad weather. When you have to walk in the rain and wind all day, you may simply not have the strength to find firewood and make a fire. In addition, raw wood is difficult to ignite. It takes a few seconds to turn on the gas stove. Thus, you can immediately after a break, you can drink hot tea or cook soup to gain strength for the subsequent activity.
There are also places where it is forbidden to make a fire. These are considered protected areas, peat lakes, dry pine forest. Taking a gas stove with you on a hike, you will always have the opportunity to warm up food or boil water.
In addition, it is worth considering the place where your vacation takes place. It's one thing if you are in a clearing next to the forest, where you can always find firewood. But, if, for example, you have arranged a climb on a mountain, then the chances of finding trees or branches are low. Therefore, a gas stove will come in handy here.
Types of gas stove
Today there are two types of camping stoves: gas stoves with horizontal cylinder installation and gas stoves with universal power supply.
In the case of the first, there is a place for attaching a gas cylinder. Having installed it, you can immediately start cooking. This type of tile is ideal for a short hike of 2 - 3 days, as it is lighter than its counterparts.
The latter are intended for a long stay outside the home. In addition to the built-in small-sized gas cylinder, an external cylinder of any capacity can be connected to the tile body using a flexible hose.
Additional components
The first necessary accessory for connecting camping tiles to external sources is the RDSG reducer. Gas in cylinders is contained in a liquefied state. This device is designed to reduce the pressure, which provides the best tile performance.
In addition, you need to purchase a gas hose of the desired length, as well as cylinders with a volume of 200 or 220 ml.
