In the Middle Ages, there were rumors that Charles Bridge was built by an architect who sold his soul to the devil. And he did this so that the most popular attraction in Prague - the Charles Bridge - would stand for many centuries. However, the devil helped the bridge's strength and longevity, or a smart architect is a moot point. The twenty-seven-year-old young architect did not waste his time. He thought for a long time, but nevertheless he came up with how strong the stones could be held together. And caravans of carts from all over the Czech Republic reached Prague. The carts were immediately unloaded, the solution was mixed, and now tourists from all over the world can admire this unique monument of medieval architecture.
Prague's landmark is Charles Bridge, the place with which many Prague legends are associated. The first stone was laid by Charles IV on July 9, 1357 at 5 hours 31 minutes. The time of the bookmark was predetermined by astrologers. They believed that this was the most favorable moment of the year. Having entrusted the construction of the bridge to a young architect, Charles IV made the right choice. For a very long time, he was looking for a composition that would forever fasten the stones of the bridge. And I found it. It was egg white. Charles Bridge is 516 meters long and about 10 meters wide. It connects the two banks of the Vltava River. It is the longest bridge in Europe during the Middle Ages. The bridge is fortified with three towers and supported by 16 arches. Charles Bridge connects two famous districts of Prague - Lesser Town and Old Town. Each sculpture has its own legend.
